The primary aim of the Learning Portals is to support project design and programme implementation based on previous MSF experience. This contributes to one of the key objectives of the Evaluation Unit: to facilitate organisational learning.

By making previous learning easily accessible to those involved in the various stages of the project cycle the Portals aim to assist MSF in its endeavour to continually improve the quality of its humanitarian work. These Learning Portals also aim to build towards better knowledge management within MSF, and offer an archive of learning from which future training can be developed.

The Learning Portals are intended to be as user-friendly as possible. Therefore, each Learning Portal covers a different thematic area. All documents are listed chronologically and summarised so that you can quickly find what you need.

Note: some reports appear in more than one Portal, e.g. an evaluation of a HIV project handover may appear in both HIV/AIDS and Project Handovers.

Also, please be aware that the documents included in the portals originate from evaluation learning, so toolkits and guides are included where they have been directly produced from previous learning.

This section of the website will be continually updated, refreshed and developed with new operational learning. The strength of the content will depend significantly on user input. If you see that something is missing or wish to complement one of the existing Portals, please email the evaluation group or leave a comment at the end of the relevant Portal.

Suggestions for new Learning Portals are welcome!
