The MSF-OCG handover process of the nutritional programme in Zinder was evaluated with the objective to assess best practices, challenges and lessons learnt of the handover/integration process of the Zinder CRENI to the hospital, with the main purpose to improve handover processes in such contexts as well as decision-making in future projects. The evaluation has confirmed the pertinence of MSF in Zinder since 2005 and has contributed to the reduction of the infant mortality rate.

Following the earthquake in 2010 and the emergency response that ensued, MSF-OCG took the decision to invest in a hospital in the Leogane area that was for several years the biggest hospital managed by MSF-OCG. Given that for the last three years this was the only MSF-OCG project in the country, that the capital is located only two hours from the hospital and that there is a strategic ambition within MSF-OCG to review mission set-ups, OCG and the field teams determined that 2013 was an opportune time to review the Haiti mission.

In September 2014, towards the end of its handover, an evaluation was commissioned with the objective to examine the intended goals, outcomes (including quality standards) and implementation process of the project.

The Intersectional Philippines MSF Typhoon Haiyan Emergency Response review was requested by the Executive Committee of MSF. It was designed to examine the operational choices of each Operational Centre, the perceived cost disparity, the role of the MSF regional offices in the emergency and the external perception regarding MSF’s added value in the response. The review took place during August and November 2014. Overall the response by MSF to Typhoon Haiyan was well perceived by all involved.

This report outlines the outcomes from the recent OCA Strategic Plan lesson's learned process conducted by the OCA Management Team as part of the creation of a new 4 year strategy period. Stockholm Evaluation Unit facilitated the learning and were responsible for the outcomes summarised in the attached report. Section 3 of the report sets out practical steps for an effective process dealing with the creation of MSF Strategic Plans (in general) and can be shared with management across the movement.
