Maternal and Child Health

The Couffo project aims to contribute to the reduction of maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality in the Klouékanmé, Toviklin, and Lalo Health Zone. This mid-term evaluation aimed to assess the relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, and sustainability of the interventions carried out since 2022.

The evaluation was conducted to assess the project’s implementation, effectiveness, and plausible impact, with the aim of generating recommendations to guide its progress through the remaining timeline (2024–2029) and inform its exit phase.

Initiated in 2011, the Khost Maternal Health Project (KMH) in Afghanistan aims to reduce neonatal and maternal mortality in Khost province by providing Comprehensive Emergency Obstetric and Neonatal Care (CEmONC) services.

In 2018, MSF started a project in the city of El Alto, Bolivia. The aim was to contribute to decreasing maternal mortality and morbidity of women and adolescents, by supporting two existing Ministry of Health’s health centres. This evaluation had the purpose to assess the appropriateness, effectiveness, coverage, and efficiency of the intervention.
