Transparency & Accountability

The MSF Intersectional Evaluation Group (IEG) works together to seek active transparency and accountability to improve the relevance, effectiveness and quality of its interventions. The IEG consists of three units based in Vienna (VEU), Stockholm (SEU) and Paris (RIDER) which exist to meet the evaluation needs within MSF.

International Conference on Hepatitis Care in Substance Users (INHSU) conference

Our anthropologist Doris attended the INHSU conference in Geneva, Switzerland and presented her work from Kenya where she worked with People who Use Drugs (PWUD). The aim of this qualitative study was to increase understanding of the challenges PWUD face in enrolling and maintaining in Medically Assisted Therapy care. You can find her study in our report database. A publication is coming soon, in the peer reviewed journal: Drugs: Education, Prevention and Policy.

This evaluation highlights both strengths and challenges of the MOM model, including opportunities for the future based on lessons learned from this experience.

The current evaluation examines PRV's potential in promoting DEI within MSF, using the PRV Framework’s grassroots approach as a benchmark for its potential wider application throughout MSF missions. The evaluation objectives included determining the Framework's capacity to promote DEI, pinpointing essential factors for its successful deployment, documenting the concrete outcomes from its pilot implementations, and generating insights to guide future DEI efforts within MSF.

This evaluation report summarises key learning around MSF-Germany’s (MSF-G) strategic plan (SP) (2021-2024) to improve and inform decisions, support resource allocation and inform strategic priorities for MSF-G’s 2025-2029 SP. This evaluation was commissioned by the MSF-G general director (GD) and head of strategy and planning, and completed by Standard of Proof, in collaboration with the MSF Vienna Evaluation Unit (VEU).
